Southern French speciality that's tailor-made for mussels: light, crisp, scintillating lime and pear flavours. Languedoc grape 'Picpoul de Pinet' is the focus at Costières de Pomerols, one of the region's top co-operative wineries. Close to the mussel and oyster beds of the Etang de Thau, this high-powered outfit has just installed an ultra-modern cellar. Charismatic, quality conscious Jean Veyrier is careful to preserve local character in every wine, winning plaudits globally.

Known as the Muscadet of the South....fresh and fine aromas of grapefruit and exotic fruits. Lime flavors with the right acidity and very clean and crisp. Absolutely perfect with chilled shrimp, mussels in a lime green sauce, oysters, left-over cold chicken over a bed of fresh romaine and pound cake topped with fresh strawberries and cream.
