Fiery, ruby red. Black currants, red cherries with touches of toasted French oak. On the palate, it is smooth, round and potent. Fine and well balanced, the Marques has a long finish.
"Rock-solid, with nicely integrated structure for the vintage, allowing the full-bodied core of loam, blackberry, fig sauce and raspberry to stretch out, with lingering mint and cocoa notes on the plush, fleshy finish. Drink now through 2011." 90 pts Wine Spectator

"Stands out for its fruit quality, balance and structure. The nose is strong and piercing with charred notes, black fruit aromas and depth. Ripe and clean in the mouth, with elevated blackberry flavors and a chewy, meaty mouthfeel. Toasty and tasting of blacke licorice on the finish. A serious, well-made Chilean Cab to drink now through 2012." 90 pts Wine Enthusiast

Review
"Big dark plum, soft vanilla, lots of dark blackberry, dark cherry, earth, smoke. Nice bottle, and the company has a huge history. Great wine, great value." Zach Padilla (TLS Product Specialist)

Technical notes
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Origin: Puente Alto Vineyard. Puente Alto, Valle del Maipo. Soil: It is alluvial, stony, poor in nutrients and highly permeable due to the gravel sub-soil. It produces plants of frugal growth, which bear clusters of small, concentrated ripe grapes. Climate: Semi-arid Mediterranean. Influenced by the Andes, this is the coolest part of the Maipo Valley. The large swings in temperature from day to night prolongs grape ripening; concentrating fruit and intensifying aromas. Aging: 14 months in 1,2 & 3 years old French oak barrels, then aged for a further 6 months after bottling
